Omicron Eta Lambda

Charitable Foundation

The Omicron Eta Lambda Charitable Foundation (OHLCF) was founded in 1986. The Foundation is identified as a philanthropic component of the the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Omicron Eta Lambda Chapter. The sole mission of the foundation has been to support the various educational endeavors of the chapter and to foster community service, education, and scholarship to the youth of the District of Columbia.

From its inception OHLCF has been a leader in the educational arena. Throughout the year the foundation can been seen conducting various scholastic activities including but not limited to: Awarding college scholarships to Washington, DC graduating seniors based on academic achievement and need; Providing ongoing mentoring for students enrolled in middle schools to support the development of their self-esteem, academic achievement and community values, conduct educational workshops and discussion groups for students on such topics as pregnancy prevention, communicable diseases and responsible parenting. One of the signature outreach programs of the foundation is to provide annual enrollment scholarships for high school students selected to attend the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Leadership Development Institute.

For more than 30 years, OHLCF has been helping educate children across the Nations Capitol through scholarship and empowerment.
